My Beauty Weapon Palette by Motives

dsc3279.jpg

I was contacted on Facebook by a representative of Motives Cosmetics and was offered a free sample of my chose. I have to admit that before that i had never heard of the brand. I decided to check out their website and see what kind of products they offered and I was surprised that Lala is also a representative for the brand. I decided to try the 'My Beauty Weapon" palette because it contains both matte and shimmer finished plus an absolutely drop dead gorgeous gunmetal glitter. I knew that this palette would be very versatile and something that I could use daily and easily create day or night looks. The palette also contains two lip glosses that are beautiful shades.

Image

You can see that the palette contains a great range of easy to use shades. Each shade has a letter next to it because as an extra perk to this palette it comes with a quick easy guide to help you create three easy looks, (Intense, Natural, and Smokey)

Image

On the inside flat of the palette you will see these guides to help you with placement of each shadow. They are easy to follow and give a good starting point of how to use the palette. Here are some swatches of all the shadows in the palette.

These are the shades for the "Smokey" section of the palette. I found the matte burgundy shade very helpful for defining my crease. The shimmery pink if the perfect neutral color for the entire lid or crease. I loved this matte Ivory shade for highlighting, over the entire lid and for blending.

Image

These are the shades for the "Natural" section palette. This gorgeous warm matte brown is perfect for the crease. The bronze shade is beautiful and very metallic. To be honest I didn't care for this hunter green eyeshadow, as you can see from the swatch that it's not pigmented or creamy. I wish I could swap this shade for something else because I can guarantee I'm never going to use it.

Image

These are the shades for the "Intense" section of the palette. You have your staple matte black and your frosty white eyeshadow but I have to tell you the star of this palette is the glittery gunmetal in the center. I was in awe of how sparkly this eyeshadow is! It looks like you literally have tiny little paparazzi's on your lid with all their flash bulbs going off. I love it! I even posted a short video on my Instagram to show everyone how intense the sparkle is.

These are the two lip glosses that are included in the palette. I think that both shades are very beautiful and pair very well with the eyeshadow shades that come in the palette. They are creamy, moisturizing, and not sticky.

This palette retails for $49.95. Overall I would recommend this palette, it is lightweight and very travel friendly. You can create various looks with this palette from day to night looks. I love that you get different finishes which bring more dimension to your looks. The packaging is not fancy at all it's just cardboard so if your into luxurious packaging, then this palette is not for you. I will be posting three looks that I created using this palette with a "Date Night" theme.  Keep your eye out for those for some great ideas if you already own this palette or are interested in this palette.

The Start of a LimeCrime Lipstick Addiction

dsc3088.jpg

The first time I ever heard of LimeCrime lipstick was when I was looking at photos of Raquel Reed on my computer. I loved her bright colorful look and especially a signature hot pink lip she always had. I did some digging and found out that her favorite hot pink lipstick was from LimeCrime in the color "Countessa Fluorescent". So I immediately looked up the website and ordered it! It was the start of a longterm relationship with LimeCrime. Along with "Countessa Fluorescent" I also ordered the color "Great Pink Planet"  which is a soft pink. I loved them both! I have to admit that I have been neglecting them for quite a while but with the recent release of "Babette" on July 15th my  craving was back! Here is the start of my LimeCrime addiction. Image

Image

Coquette, Babette, Great Pink Planet, Countessa Fluorescent, Geradium

Image

These are extremely opaque but can easily be toned down by blotting with tissue. "Coquette" is the perfect peachy nude shade that makes my lips look like I'm pouting. I had to do a double take when looking through my photos.

Image

I absolutely adore this color! "Babette" is a beautiful peach with pink undertones. This is a great alternative to the usual soft pink shades that I usually gravitate to. Another perk is that this color also makes my lips look really plump and full.

Image

"Great Pink Planet" is a powdery pink with lavender undertones. This is full on straight from the tube but I usually wear this with a lighter hand. This color also has a hint of neon so it definitely pops!

Image

Here is the color that started it all "Contessa Fluorescent." It is a vibrant neon hot pink, if you want to make a statement get this color. This color definitely lights up your face with a pop of color.

Image

"Geradium" is a gorgeous color that I have never come across until now. I love the subtle brightness it has. I get that pop without being to over the top. I have to say that I'm loving all of my LimeCrime lipsticks very much, and can't wait to add more to my collection. From the cute lavender and sparkly silver unicorn  packaging to the unique color choices. You can purchase these great lipsticks and more on LimeCrimeMakeup.com ($15.99) Next on my LimeCrime wish list are "Cosmopop" "Airbourne Unicorn" "D'Lilac" and "Chinchilla" What are some of your favorite LimeCrime colors?
