I was very excited to try this new product by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have recently fallen in love with many of her products and I new that this was going to make filling in my brows so much easier. I purchased mine at the IMATS but you can order these on the Anastasia website for $18.00. I chose the color Dark Brown and I plan on purchasing the Blonde in the near future (I actually prefer a much lighter brow)
Here are some tools I like to use to help me achieve a perfectly sculpted brow. First you are going to need an angled eyeliner brush for filling in the brows. I like to use this MAC 266 brush because it is very thin and gives me a nice crisp line with much control. Next you want to find a good creamy concealer that matches your skin tone to clean and carve out your brows. I like to use my Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette because it is creamy with create pigmentation. Last but not least a good flat concealer brush that will give you a nice clean line. My favorite in my Sonia Kashuk Concealer Brush.
This is my totally naked sad brow. You can see that my hairs are really sparse and there is no shape. I am currently in the process of growing them out so they are extra bushy and somewhat hard to work with. All can be fixed with this amazing product that is very simple to use.
STEP 1: You want to take your angled eyeliner brush and dip it into the pomade. Start filling in the bottom of your brow a 1/4 of inch from the start of your brow. Try to follow the shape of you brow.
STEP 2: Refill your brush if necessary, and repeat step 1 on the top of your brow.
STEP 3: Fill in the outline you made.
STEP 4: Without refilling your brush and using whatever is left over, lightly fill in the front of your brow using very light pressure. You want to create a gradient effect to give a softer, slightly more natural look.
STEP 5: With your concealer and concealer brush you can clean up and sharpen the edge of your outline to create more definition. This technique is called "carving out" your brows.
STEP 6: You can carve out the top of your brow if necessary. During this process you can fix any mistakes you have made in any of the previous steps like over drawing or rough lines.
STEP 7: All that is left is to add any brow gel to hold brow hairs in place if you need it.
I hope this was helpful, if you are interesting in seeing a more in depth video of this process please watch my video below and feel free to visit my YouTube channel for more makeup videos. Happy shopping!!!
UPDATE: I've since improved my technique and created an updated brow video.
