Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

It has been a really long time since I have been this excited about a new product. I first saw a picture of this palette on Instagram and I instantly knew that this was going to be a must in my makeup collection. I have nothing like it and I recently started to perfect the contouring technique. I was one of the lucky few that was able to order it the day it was released, I even set an alarm. It was sold out by the end of the day and I was so happy I didn't wait because this is a phenomenal kit. I can't tell you how much I love it and it has quickly become part of my daily makeup routine. You can order this palette on anastasiabeverlyhills.com for $40.

The palette contains two matte setting powders and a highlight as well as three matte contouring shades. This palette will make it easy for you define, sculpt and highlight you cheekbones, nose, jawline and eyes. You can see that the pans are able to pop out for refill purposes. The pans also are magnetic so no worries of them falling out and cracking.

Vanilla, Banana, Sand

VANILLA = Is a peachy pink setting powder that is great for setting concealer right under the eyes.

BANANA  = Is a yellow undertone setting powder that is great for setting the T-Zone area.

SAND = Is an awesome highlight that will give you that J Lo glow, it is the perfect shade and a little goes a long way.

Java, Fawn, Havana

JAVA = Is a contouring shade with slightly gray undertones perfect for carving out the cheeks.

FAWN = Is a contouring shade that is really forgiving. You can go crazy with this stuff and it will give you the softest application. I love it for contouring the nose.

HAVANA = Is the strongest contouring shade with warm undertones. I use this for to add some warmth into my skin and give me a nice tan look.

DEMO: In these photos I'm going to show you how I like to use the Anastasia Contour Kit. I like to use it in a more subtly way for everyday and then I can always add more for a dramatic evening look. This Kit is very versatile and can be used for many things including eyeshadow looks.

I like to start off with some slight highlighting before I even use the kit, so I already have a head start. Here I'm using my Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Luminous Foundation around the perimeter of my face and down my nose. Next I will place my FLOWER BB Cream in the lightest shade BB1 under my eye in un upside triangle. I start from the tear duct and bring it down to the side of my nostril then at an angle move towards my temple and then back to the tear duct. I also place this all over the eyelid up to the brow and down the bridge of my nose.

NEXT: I take the color FAWN from the palette and with a Real Techniques "Contour Brush" and start at the top of my ear close to my hair line and blend the color down towards the side of my lips.  Moving my brush is small circular motions to blend and soften any harsh lines but still keeping the color in the hollows of the cheeks. I also place this color on the side of my forehead and on the side of the bridge of my nose. I start at the beginning of my eyebrow and work the color down the side of my nose to contour.

Then I take the shade HAVANA from the kit and I define the cheeks a bit more. I only bring this color about half way down my cheek and stop there. Make sure that the color is nicely blended to the point where you can not see where Fawn and Havana meet.

I take the highlight from the kit with a Real Techniques Limited Edition Brush and place it on the tops of my cheeks, down the bridge of my nose, and just above my lip on the cupids bow.
