Review on It'sJudyTime BH Comsmetics Palette

dsc3536.jpg

On December 7th one of my favorite Youtubers launched her first costum palette. I have been watching Judy's daily vlog and makeup channel for over a year now and have fallen in love with her and her family. I was thrilled that she partnered up with BH Cosmetics to create a palette with 12 eyeshadows that are perfect for day or night. These shades are hand picked by Judy and feature satin, shimmer and matte finishes. The palette has mostly neutral shades with the exception of two purple and one navy blue shade. This palette is sold on the BH Cosmetics website for $14.95 but act fast! These are Limited Edition. Purchase it here ==> It's Judy Time Palette

I love that this is a palette with colors that are great for everyday and still give you the option for some fun looks with the pop of color. I also like that Judy included a range of different finishes. I love using the matte shades to define my crease and use the shimmer or satin on the lid. My favorites shades from the palette by just the swatches alone are the two bottom on the left. What are your favorite shades?

Here is a photo of the swatches without the flash because we all know how the flash can wash out the vibrancy of the eyeshadows. I have noticed that I do need to use a primer prior to applying eyeshadows to make them more vibrant and last longer. These pictures of the swatches do have a primer underneath, so keep that in mind.

Overall I love this palette and think that the quality of the eyeshadows is great for the price. I would totally recommend this palette to everyone! Every girl has that go to all reliable palette that they always reach for. Well I'm sure that this palette will replace that one. This is definitely a must have palette. Even if you don't normally wear color in your normal makeup routine, these shades will make you think twice. The colors are pigmented, easy to blend, and creamy. I did experience some fall out with some of the darker shades which is to be expected. Overall this is a beautiful palette. Here are some swatches.

You may have noticed that the fourth row contains neutrals, I actually like that they included these colors because it gives you more options for wearable looks. Mixing neutrals with colors makes your look more subtle and not so harsh or heavy. You can definitely amp up your look if that is more your style. I have been able to create really dramatic smokey eyes with this palette as well as more toned down day time looks. There is something for everyone. This would make a great Christmas present for any makeup lover, it's never to early to start Christmas shopping right? I might pick up a few for my friends and family. I have also posted some makeup tutorials using this palette on my Youtube channel for some reference. Let me know what are some of your favorite shades from this palette?

My Beauty Weapon Palette by Motives

dsc3279.jpg

I was contacted on Facebook by a representative of Motives Cosmetics and was offered a free sample of my chose. I have to admit that before that i had never heard of the brand. I decided to check out their website and see what kind of products they offered and I was surprised that Lala is also a representative for the brand. I decided to try the 'My Beauty Weapon" palette because it contains both matte and shimmer finished plus an absolutely drop dead gorgeous gunmetal glitter. I knew that this palette would be very versatile and something that I could use daily and easily create day or night looks. The palette also contains two lip glosses that are beautiful shades.

Image

You can see that the palette contains a great range of easy to use shades. Each shade has a letter next to it because as an extra perk to this palette it comes with a quick easy guide to help you create three easy looks, (Intense, Natural, and Smokey)

Image

On the inside flat of the palette you will see these guides to help you with placement of each shadow. They are easy to follow and give a good starting point of how to use the palette. Here are some swatches of all the shadows in the palette.

These are the shades for the "Smokey" section of the palette. I found the matte burgundy shade very helpful for defining my crease. The shimmery pink if the perfect neutral color for the entire lid or crease. I loved this matte Ivory shade for highlighting, over the entire lid and for blending.

Image

These are the shades for the "Natural" section palette. This gorgeous warm matte brown is perfect for the crease. The bronze shade is beautiful and very metallic. To be honest I didn't care for this hunter green eyeshadow, as you can see from the swatch that it's not pigmented or creamy. I wish I could swap this shade for something else because I can guarantee I'm never going to use it.

Image

These are the shades for the "Intense" section of the palette. You have your staple matte black and your frosty white eyeshadow but I have to tell you the star of this palette is the glittery gunmetal in the center. I was in awe of how sparkly this eyeshadow is! It looks like you literally have tiny little paparazzi's on your lid with all their flash bulbs going off. I love it! I even posted a short video on my Instagram to show everyone how intense the sparkle is.

Image

These are the two lip glosses that are included in the palette. I think that both shades are very beautiful and pair very well with the eyeshadow shades that come in the palette. They are creamy, moisturizing, and not sticky.

This palette retails for $49.95. Overall I would recommend this palette, it is lightweight and very travel friendly. You can create various looks with this palette from day to night looks. I love that you get different finishes which bring more dimension to your looks. The packaging is not fancy at all it's just cardboard so if your into luxurious packaging, then this palette is not for you. I will be posting three looks that I created using this palette with a "Date Night" theme.  Keep your eye out for those for some great ideas if you already own this palette or are interested in this palette.
